Microsoft .net

We have been developing software for Microsoft's .net platforms since version 1 beta 2 back in the summer of 2001. Since those early days the .net platform has evolved into an excellent development platform; standards based, reliable, highly functional and offerring excellent developer productivity.

We have developed a wide range of applications and frameworks for the .net platform, in the most part using the C# and C++ programming languages. Some highlights in our portfolio include:

• Our enterprise web site content management and publishing system, AuCMS
• The open source logging framework for .net, log4net (donated to Apache)
• A time-tracking and billing system designed for knowledge workers
• A web-based executive learning environment
• Web parts for SharePoint

The .net framework is supported and enhanced by a wide range of complimentary products and technologies including Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). There are also numerous development tools and frameworks including Microsoft Visual Studio, nant, log4net, nunit and ReSharper. We use many of them to assist us in delivering high quality software solutions and continually evaluate and contribute to new products and technologies as they emerge to ensure that we are always taking advantage of the best products and tools available.

Although Microsoft originally developed the .net framework, the specification for the runtime environment (similar to Java's virtual machine) is an open standard, meaning that third parties may develop runtime environments for operating system platforms other than Windows. Mono is a runtime enviroment developed to run on the Linux operating system.
