Hadlow College is the well-established and fast-growing agricultural college based in the heart of Kent. Its mission is to deliver excellent, accessible training and education in land-based subjects for all those who want to learn.
The Brief
Hadlow College have engaged FreshEnterprise, the website management company, and Neoworks to redevelop their intranet. The first stage of the intranet project is the course resource management system. The key objectives are to create a single, secure area where Hadlow College staff can manage their course resources, and students can gain access to the information they need to successfully complete their instruction.
The driving requirement behind the creation of the new intranet system for the college is to provide a centralised information resource, improving standards and accessibility for staff and students.
Our Solution
Neoworks have developed a customised resource management application using .NET technology, with secure access for only those students with a student number and password. The system enables staff to manage course resource information and integrates information resources from the existing college website.
The solution is designed so that it can be hosted by Hadlow College with minimal set-up and administration cost. Access to the various sections of the Intranet and the relevant administration tools is restricted so that staff and students have access to only those parts of the intranet that they require. In addition, the solution has a refreshing new design to reflect Hadlow's corporate identity, yet remains simple to operate and navigate.
Success
The Hadlow College intranet resource management system was delivered to the client on time and in budget. The solution is being hosted by the college and has fulfilled its mandate of being a resource that is used by the students and staff alike. The application is achieving its objectives of ease of use, robustness and low administration overhead.
