Since we set up neoworks I have had a wide array of experience with a variety of customers and projects. I have worked in the roles of software developer, project manager, business analyst and solution architect. I have designed, developed and managed the development of online publishing, e-commerce, EAI and business process management solutions for a diverse set of clients.

I have learned what I most (and least) enjoy doing and where my skills and experience can add the most value. Currently my time is divided between working as e-commerce solution architect and as neoworks' business development director.

As a solution architect I design e-commerce software solutions, within our own project delivery teams and as a consultant for other organisations. Successful solution architecture fulfils both business and technical requirements, while operating within commercial and technical constraints, and lays down a technical blueprint for the lifetime of the solution.

With over 15 years of experience of a wide range of software systems, their implementation and evolution. I am able to draw on this rich knowledge to anticipate the impact of evolving technology and changing business requirements on a solution. Understanding the long term expectations of the business and incorporating the right level of flexibility into a solution is not just a 'nice to have', but is a major factor in the success of a solution. The skill of a good solution architect lies in balancing immediate requirements, time scale and budget with the longer term vision and objectives for the solution.

As business development director for neoworks I engage with prospective customers, and develop relationships with our existing customers and channel partners. Working with the right partners and customers is extremely important to us; we want to work with smart, results focused people who value their time as much as we value ours.

I met my co-directors at UCL, whilst studying computer science, and we decided in our penultimate year of study that we wanted to set up a software development company together. We took on our first client shortly before sitting our finals and the rest, as they say, is history. I am very proud of what we have created at neoworks; a great place to work for our talented and highly motivated people, but most importantly we have a world class technical team with the skills and experience to architect, deliver and support best of breed e-commerce software solutions for our clients.

I get enormous satisfaction from my work, and can't imagine a more enjoyable and varied professional life.
