things were so much more simple in the Olden Days

I jumped at the chance to join neoworks in early 2010, having witnessed their performance as a client, and since then I have been delighted to discover that neoworks really is everything I thought it was – a place where talented individuals combine to make stunning teams and deliver professional excellence and value.

My working life has been focused on successful business management, mainly in responsible client-facing roles, across the technology, telecom and Internet spectrum. I love technology and I understand technology, but I don’t try and DO technology, that’s for these experts around me.

I am the old man around here, Uncle Joe, and I am the only non-technical person in the business. I do all the things that these talented techno-gurus don’t want to do - and shouldn’t have to do. I guess that could be called Operational Management, but my role also incorporates Commercial Management and Client Relationship responsibilities. That is what I have spent the last 3 decades or so doing; it is what I thoroughly enjoy! We call it Client Operations.

I am responsible for managing our scheduling, business planning and resourcing requirements, together with internal and external communications. I also take responsibility for our commercial operations and project financial controls. With quality internal processes and controls in place we can effectively manage our projected growth in a controlled and predictable manner, and by closely monitoring and communicating our progress, we can consistently deliver the right results for our clients, every time.

I thoroughly enjoy helping to develop neoworks as an award winning and world class e-commerce business, with a winning strategy, outstanding operations, strong relationships and managed growth. neoworks understand the real meaning of partnerships and how to manage relationships for mutual benefit, thinking outside the usual 3 dimensions and solving problems – which I have always considered as another word for opportunities.

When not enjoying my business life, I love to be with my family and two lively teenage sons. I like to spend as much time on my motorbike as possible, on or off road. I also ski and occasionally indulge in music and theatre. One day, I hope to sail around the world.
