Our Environmental Policy
Statement
Neoworks recognises its corporate obligations to, and the commercial sense of, a sound environmental management policy for the benefit of all its stakeholders and the community.
Neoworks acknowledges that however marginal the direct and indirect impact of our business activities might be on the environment, there is the constant need to consider ways and means of conserving energy, and minimising all waste and pollution in our business processes.
In addition to complying with all relevant legislation and regulations, Neoworks endeavours to take positive measures to achieve standards of environmental management that reflect its corporate commitment.
The Neoworks Environmental Policy is designed to reflect these goals.
Energy Efficiency
Neoworks endeavour, wherever possible, to use energy efficient products. This includes the use of:
- EnergyStar compliant computer monitors
- ACPI Compliant computer systems
- Low-consumption fluorescent lighting
- Power-saving printers and fax machines
Wherever possible Neoworks recycles unwanted materials, but where this may not be possible endeavours to dispose of waste in a manner having the least effect possible on the environment.
Waste and Recycling
Neoworks encourage the use of suppliers who use environmentally friendly packaging, and actively attempt to reduce the amount of packaging used with their products. Neoworks will in turn keep any packaging of its own products to a minimum.
Neoworks attempt to perform all possible operations electronically to avoid unnecessary use of printers/plotters, ensuring minimum usage of power, and decreasing low level ozone pollutants.
Neoworks also acknowledges that computer systems present a significant environmental risk through their disposal, and so encourages the use of products that make use of legacy systems, such the Linux OS, and projects which repurpose older hardware for new environments such as schools and charities.
Pollution
Neoworks has a strict policy on reducing pollution and emissions. Laser Printers, Photocopiers and any other apparatus with the potential to release harmful vapours must comply with the appropriate emissions regulations.
Any computer monitors producing EMF (ElectroMagnetic Field) radiation must comply with the TCO'95 standards. The newer TCO'99 standards are preferred for any new equipment purchased for the workplace.
Neoworks does not operate any vehicles and encourages the use of public transport by its employees.
