Ted Baker worldwide multichannel hybris re-platform

A next generation, fashion retail site with a rich AJAX based front end and fully responsive web design.  This project featured many integrations, a complex order process, and a fully bespoke customer service/POS interface. neoworks delivered this project to a hard deadline using a full Agile methodology.  The visual designs were produced by digital agency Poke.

Head of E-Commerce at Ted Baker, Eve Henrikson, spearheaded a project to overhaul their online business with a view to develop a solution that would be flexible enough to support their current operations as well as the brand’s future aspirations.  Using a responsive web design approach, Ted demonstrate that a carefully considered ecommerce platform, built around well-defined business objectives and customer needs, together with a realistic understanding of its goals and limitations is a worthwhile investment.

Unveiling their new website in early November 2013, the teams collaborating on the Ted Baker project solved every one of the challenges they’d been tasked to overcome:

  • Ted Baker is no longer restricted in their international offering and can now have websites tailored to their chosen territories
  • New merchandising opportunities, allowing Ted to link styles, display products at colour level and have on-site search, improved their ability to market their products
  • Managing different websites for different devices was corrected by their adoption of RWD.

In the chairman’s statement on group performance, e-commerce generated £9.4 million for the company (51.6% increase in sales) in 2013/2014 – showing that RWD together with a carefully considered e-commerce platform and a solid understanding of customers is a recipe for success.
